Shanna has been at DroneSeed for almost 2.5 years as part of the Tech-Ops team. Before joining DroneSeed, her career was focused on Geographic Information Systems (or GIS) and conservation, with zero drone experience. She joined DroneSeed for the mission and is now Part 107 certified, and leads crews as pilot-in-command. This means she completed DroneSeed’s rigorous training program and is directly responsible for, and the final authority, to the operation of the aircraft and crew.
On site, in addition to being PIC, Shanna pilots survey drones, and operates the ground control station for seeding aircraft. This involves running the computer that is in control of multiple heavy-lift drones operating in the air simultaneously. She also now flies her personal mini-drones around her house, using them to play with her cats.
